Dr. Atanu Deyji (Ph.D., UC Berkeley) is an economist. He has a multidisciplinary background – computer science (Rutgers Univ and IIT Kanpur), and engineering (Nagpur Univ). As a Reuters Fellow at Stanford University, he developed an economic model for catalyzing rural development called RISC. He writes widely on education, technology, economics and politics on his blog on India's Development.  In his book Transforming India (2011) (download pdf), he explores why India is still a largely poor country, and the path to India becoming a prosperous, developed nation. Atanu lives in the San Francisco Bay area.
